Biography

Ninjutsu
George Georgiou was born in Nicosia, Cyprus on the 28th of May 1971. During the war period on the island he comes to Greece where he is introduced to gymnastics; until the age of 15 he took part in many events where he often excelled. When he was 15 years old he started on martial arts Judo and Full Contact Karate, however he was intrigued by Ninjutsu of Masaaki Hatsumi.

Since 1991 he has taken part in numerous Tai Kai seminars in the Bujinkan in England, Spain, France, Netherlands and other countries around the world. So far, he has travelled 40 times to Japan where he trains with Sôke and all of his Japanese senior students.

At the age of 20 he becomes the youngest Shodan in Greece and in 1991 he founds the “Herculian Association of Martial Arts”, the first recognised Bujinkan Dojo in Greece.

Being a student of Peter King, he used to travel very often – even twice a month – in order to train with him in England. Peter grades him with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th dan ranks. At the age of 25, he passes his Sakki test and becomes the first and youngest Shidoshi in Greece.

The years go by, and at the age of 35 he receives the 10th dan from Soke and becomes a Shihan in the Bujinkan Dojo. In 2010 he also receives the Shihan Kugyo rank from Soke.

Apart from the Bujinkan, George Georgiou also holds the Shodan rank in Kodokan Judo and also the instructor’s license.

International Bodyguard Association (IBA)
At the age of 20 and for 10 more years, George Georgiou trains in IBA, following all kinds of seminars around Europe: anti-terrorism, explosives, sniper training, first aid, defensive/offensive driving, etc. He receives the titles of Instructor, National Organiser and National Director of Greece from the organisation’s leader, James Short. In 1997, the instructor’s silver shield is awarded to him, prize that few people have earned.

Amatsu Tatara Hichibuku Goshinjutsu
After completing a 3 year course in Hichibuku Goshinjutsu with Peter King, George Georgiou receives his Okuden Menkyo license and is a certified practitioner in the art. Moreover, through the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy, he expands his knowledge and is now a certified Auricular and Body Acupuncturist.
